But not in UK. Thousands of strangers across the UK are working together to create this "money tree”, plant some of their spare change. Then they called it a "wishing trees".
Cause every time they plant the
coins, they always mention their wishes.
There are thousands or maybe more, of coins literally hammered into the bark.
When some people do it through the old tree, then
soon followed by another.
Creating unique art and painful effect
to the old tree.
Being a witness over thousands of stranger people's wishes, from time to time.
Most of the old trees which located near Cumbria and Portmeirion, all within
the UK.
According to the BBC, in the 1700s, the Scottish people sometimes hammering
something ( include coin ) into a tree as an offering, that to take away the sickness.
What clearly effect which is proven, the tree became sick.
It is not clear whether it worked. Putting a padlock on the bridge, throwing coins into wells and plant a coin in a tree ... That is a strange tradition that is still running.
